Lessons from “Think Like a Rocket Scientist” and My Website Journey

Welcome to my blog!

I’m Christina Radics, an experienced dentist, speaker, and coach. Today, I want to share an impactful lesson from the book “Think Like a Rocket Scientist” by Ozan Varol and how it recently resonated with my own experience. You can read more about Ozan and his work here.

The Lesson from Rocket Science

One of the most powerful insights in Varol’s book is how rocket scientists approach problem-solving and brainstorming. Imagine you’re building your clinic, and then it suddenly burns down or disappears. How would you start over? This thought experiment forces you to think creatively and innovatively, unburdened by previous constraints.

Varol’s method encourages us to wipe the slate clean and reimagine our approach from scratch. This idea struck a chord with me, and I never thought I’d have to apply it so literally until a few days ago.

My Website Crisis

Just recently, I was updating my website to better reflect who I am, my mission, and how I can help you through my dentist coaching services. I wanted the site to be clearer and more user-friendly, with updated testimonials, a Q&A section, and detailed descriptions of my coaching packages.

I was almost done with the updates when, in a single moment of distraction, I pushed the wrong button, and my entire website almost disappeared. It was a devastating moment. All the time and effort I had put into those updates seemed lost. My immediate reaction was one of grief and frustration.

Applying Rocket Science to Real Life

In that moment, I remembered Varol’s lesson. I asked myself what I would tell a coaching client in a similar situation. The answer was clear: stay in the present, focus on what can be done now, and treat this as an opportunity for improvement.

Thankfully, GoDaddy managed to help me restore most of my website. This morning, with a fresh perspective inspired by Varol, I decided not just to redo the website updates as they were but to think about how I could make them even better.

Turning Challenges into Opportunities

This experience reinforced an important lesson: it’s not what happens to us that matters most, but how we receive it and what we decide to do with it. This mindset shift allowed me to improve my website beyond what I had initially envisioned.

What is New on My Website?

I’m happy to share the updates that came out of this process:

  • Testimonials: I’ve added a section with testimonials from clients who have benefited from my coaching. You can read their experiences here.
  • Q&A Section: I’ve included a Q&A with the three most frequent questions I receive, which you can check out here.
  • Coaching Packages: I now showcase three types of coaching packages—12 months, 6 months, and 3 months—each with flexible payment plans. You can find more details here.
  • My Story: I’ve also added a detailed section about my story—how my mission has evolved and why I am passionate about helping others. You can read more about my journey here.

My Mission

Through these updates, my mission remains clear: to be the dentist coach I wish I had years ago. I aim to create better workplaces and improve lives for dentists and other professionals, helping you align your life with your true values and purpose.

Final Thoughts

If you ever face a setback, remember Varol’s lesson. Treat it as an opportunity to start fresh and improve. I hope you find my updated website helpful and inspiring. That’s my ultimate goal—to serve you better and help you achieve your dreams.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. I wish you a happy Friday and a fantastic weekend!

With love 🦋

Christina Radics
